It has so many different things to get used to including the new windows vista. The keys etc are very delicate, you only have to touch them very lightly. If anyone else has that problem it is the settings in the computer and not windows vista as i originally thought.Now that's solved i am very happy with it.Tracey. More Slender and lightweight than i expected. Very good quality image on the screen. Now that i am used to it i love it.I did have problems with it at first powering back on after logging off.
There is nothing that i dislike about it so far. other then that i love the computer and for the price i paid which was 869 on sale from amazon i cant complain at all. I have had my laptop now for about 3 weeks. I am deployed right now and the only thing i can complain about is the glossy finish is sometimes very hard to keep clean but i dont think that is going to be all that big of a deal after i get home and start using it as more of a desktop.
Let me assure you, if you're planning on purchasing a Toshiba laptop, you are not.Please, google "toshiba laptop complaints" and get the REAL reviews.As for my input.this is a conversation that took place in an authorized toshiba shipping store:me: "Man, let me tell you something. If you're reading this review right now, then chances are you want to make sure you are making the right choice. NEVER buy a Toshiba laptop."clerk: "With the ammount of them that we ship back every month, I never would.".just in case you were wondering how many laptops this authorized postal service receives from customer and ships out for repair every month - ".about 30" is the answer that I gotGood luck.
It is sleek and fairly light. Complaints about the 17" being too big and bulky to carry around are not a worry with this. I'm sure you can find a $1,500 laptop that would be a bit faster, but this is an all around great laptop. As someone who was a bit hesitant to move from XP to Vista this laptop (and Vista) is great. I am not a gamer but I wanted the power to be able to do a lot of different things with my laptop. I love the way it looks and it's performance is top notch, especially in the price range.
